You can’t say Liverpool without saying Beatles.
So, when one of my dearest friend invited me over for a weekend, the “All you need is love” song started singing in my mind and I booked my bus ticket, eager to check the city out.
I love cities with harbors and the Albert Dock was my first stop.
The place bustle with locals and visitors.
I was lucky enough to get a weekend with good weather and there is nothing better than sipping a cold cocktail under the sun whilst people watching.
I quickly realized that Liverpool it’s a very popular choice for hen and stag parties and it was hilarious to spot funny shaped objects at every corner…
At the Albert Dock a must-to-do visit is the Tate Liverpool.
The museum hosts the National Collection of Modern Art in the north and it is a very popular art gallery outside of London.
There is no fee entrance(which is a always a plus) however, you might need to pay for special exhibitions.
From the gallery you can easily reach the city centre on foot.
You will be surrounded by high street shops, cafeterias and restaurants.
Liverpool has also a variety of typical pubs.
It’s time to head to the Cavern Quarter!
The world famous Mathew Street it’s where The Cavern Club is located.
At the beginning of their career, the Beatles were performing in this club in multiple occasions.
The pub keeps its popularity live with vintage pop memorabilia decorations and hosts live bands from Thursday to Sunday night.
Matthew Street is over all a cool place to visit and to head to for nightlife.
It was an enjoyable weekend and I would recommend to visit Liverpool if you get the chance!
